Editing lessons

Are you interested in beginning or continuing to learn how to edit videos or and films? I'd love to work with you to help you bring forth your visions into the world.

I am very excited to be launching one on one online video editing lessons for beginner and intermediate creators using iMovie and Final Cut Pro. (Apple device compatible with these apps is required)
No experience required.

I am now accepting applicants for a limited number of slots for one hour lessons.

Learners will receive custom lessons based on your goals, needs, and skill levels.
These include but are not limited to:
-101 fundamentals of how to use the software
-Organizing your workflow
-Color & audio editing
-Titles and captions
-Creative and effective storytelling skills
-Story & editing consultation

I specialize in event recap, promotional, educational, short form journalism, documentary editing, family videos, and tribute videos, but I am happy to work with you to accomplish any style of video editing you are desiring to learn and accomplish.

About me:

Over the last 14 years, I have been lucky enough to be a videographer for my communities and family. It has been the honor of my life to use my work to support causes, express love & care, and figure out how to move through this life healthily with others.

My editing work has been featured online, in exhibitions, and in screenings including at the Chicago Cultural Center, TED-X, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Chicago Palestine Film Festival, as well as multiple other film festivals across North America and Ireland.My cinematography has been featured on PBS, STARZ, National Geographic, and at the Sundance Film Festival amongst others.

Lesson Booking and Terms

A free 30 minute trial lesson before committing to lessons is available if desired.

One hour lessons will be booked four at a time. These do not expire and can be carried over.
24 hours notice is required to cancel and reschedule a lesson without penalty. Lessons that are not cancelled within 24 hours will still be charged and make-up lessons are at my discretion.

No additional make-up lessons will be available once 2 lessons are missed and rescheduled without advance cancellation in an 8 week period.

Rates

Lessons will be charged on a sliding scale from $50 to $225/hr based on your access to funds.
If your goals align with advanced lessons, I will use discretion to set an appropriate sliding scale.
